NURS 323 - Nursing Theory and Practice: Older Adult | ||
This course focuses on health-promoting, person-centred nursing practice with older persons in rural communities. Assessment focuses on the physical and mental health of older persons within the context of their everyday experience and their families and/or cultures. Particular attention is paid to the strengths of the individual as well as the presenting health challenges. Students explore strategies to prevent and/or address common health issues experienced by older persons. In addition, students have an opportunity to extend knowledge, skills and the application of therapeutic approaches with this population in the community and clinical settings.
