NRSG 422 - Indigenous Health and Nursing | ||
This course focuses on theories, roles and practices required by nurses in Indigenous communities. Topics include: the theoretical and practical exploration of the impact of colonization on health; effects of rapid cultural change; nursing management of specific health issues; culturally sensitive approaches to nursing care; the health transfer process; and special topics related to health. In the extended clinical practicum, students integrate theory and evidence to contribute to services and programs in Indigenous communities or agencies that primarily serve Indigenous clients.
