INTS 234 - Introduction to Islamic Civilizations
This course explores the history of Islamic civilization from the earliest appearance of Islam until the Mongol invasion in the mid-thirteenth century. We consider the origins and theological development of Islam through a historical lens by examining broad themes such as law, philosophy, and literary movements while also addressing the emergence of dynastic (caliphate) polity.
