PHYS 150 - Physics for Future Leaders |
This course examines the physics and technology underlying modern society and issues of global concern. The course introduces basic physics themes such as motion and energy, atoms and heat, gravity and force, electricity and magnetism, light and electromagnetic waves, and radioactivity and nuclear reactions. Using these concepts, the course provides a basic scientific understanding of topics such as climate change, alternative energy, nuclear power and nuclear weapons, medical technology, atmospheric pollutions, earthquakes, satellites, and telecommunication.
